You know, I’ve always been a huge Bengals fan. I’ve seen the highs and the lows, the good and the bad. So, the other day, I got this idea to dive into some team history, specifically about our quarterbacks. I mean, we’ve had some amazing ones, right? But I wanted to look at the other side of the coin: the worst Bengals quarterbacks. Sounds fun, huh?

I started by digging through some online resources. I went to this one site, you know the one, it has like every NFL stat ever. I started compiling a list of Bengals QBs and their stats. Wins, losses, touchdowns, interceptions, all that good stuff. It was a bit of a data dump, but I wanted to get the full picture.
Then, I started filtering. I figured the guys with the worst records, you know, the most losses, those were the ones I was really interested in. I mean, wins and losses, that’s the bottom line, right? So I made a list of QBs with the worst win-loss percentages. I excluded the recent guys, focusing on the ones from a few years back. Don’t wanna step on any current players’ toes, haha.
- First, I looked at the win-loss records. This helped me identify which quarterbacks struggled the most in terms of getting victories for the team.
- Then, I examined their touchdown-to-interception ratios. A low number of touchdowns compared to interceptions is usually a bad sign for a QB.
- I also considered their overall impact on the team. Were they able to lead the team to successful seasons, or did the team struggle while they were at the helm?
After I had my list, I started looking for patterns. Like, were there any common factors among these less-than-stellar QBs? I found some interesting stuff. Some of these guys were just bad luck, you know? Others, well, they just didn’t have what it takes to be a successful NFL quarterback. One guy, Smith, he really stood out. He went 3-14 in four seasons, with only five touchdowns and thirteen interceptions. Not great, to say the least.
I gotta say, this whole process was pretty eye-opening. It really made me appreciate the good quarterbacks we’ve had even more. And it also gave me a new perspective on the history of the team. We’ve had some rough patches, that’s for sure, including having the league’s worst record in the 2019 season, but we’ve also had some great moments.
I decided to share my findings with some fellow Bengals fans online. I thought it would be a fun discussion, and it was! We had a good time reminiscing about the past, both the good and the bad. It’s all part of being a fan, right?
What I Found
It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot. It just goes to show you, even in the world of professional sports, not everyone can be a superstar. But hey, that’s what makes the game so interesting, right?

Well, that’s my story. I hope you enjoyed it. And remember, even when things are tough, keep the faith! Who Dey!
