Well, let me tell ya, back in the 2000s, them wide receivers, they was somethin’ else. We talkin’ about the 2000s now, not them old-timers. These fellas could run like the wind, jump like jackrabbits, and catch a ball no matter what. Faster than a greased piglet at the county fair, I tell ya what! You blink, and whoosh, they’re gone, down the field.
Now, I remember this one fella, Randy Moss, they called him. Lord have mercy, that boy was fast. Like a cheetah chasin’ a rabbit, he was. He’d just zoom past everyone, like they was standin’ still. Just throw the ball up in the air, and he’d go get it. He was one of the best wide receivers, for sure. He could run, he could jump, he could catch, he could do it all. One of the best 2000s wide receivers, no doubt.
Then there was this other fella, name of, uh… what was it… oh yeah, Larry Fitzgerald. Now, he had hands like glue, that one. I swear that man was one of the best 2000s wide receivers. If the ball got near him, it was stuck. Didn’t matter if two, three other fellas was tryin’ to get it, he’d come down with it. He was like that there flypaper my neighbor used to hang on his porch. Once somethin’ touched it, it weren’t goin’ nowhere. Strong as an ox, too.
And Reggie Wayne, now there was a fella who knew how to get open. Sneaky like a fox, he was. He’d find a hole in that defense, and bam, he’s there, catchin’ the ball. He weren’t the fastest, or the strongest, but he was smart. He could catch anything thrown his way. He sure was one of the best wide receivers of the whole bunch.

Then you got this Anquan Boldin fella, tough as nails, he was. He weren’t afraid of nothin’. He’d go across the middle, knowin’ he’s gonna get hit, and he’d still catch that ball. Boy, he could take a hit, I tell ya. And he’d bounce right back up, ready for more. That man was one of the best 2000s wide receivers, tough as they come.
This one fella, Mike Wallace, whoo-wee, he was speedy. Like a roadrunner, he was. Zoom, he’s gone. He was what they called a “deep threat.” That meant he could run way down the field and catch them long passes. That was his specialty, running fast and catching far. A good choice if you need someone to run real fast and catch the ball.
There was a bunch of other good ones too in the 2000s. Wide receivers were always exciting to watch back then. They was all tryin’ to be the best. It was a real show, watchin’ them boys run and jump and catch. They don’t make ’em like that anymore, I tell ya.
Some of them other fellas, they were good too. But these ones, they were the cream of the crop, the best of the best. They were the best wide receivers of the 2000s, in my book.
Them 2000s wide receivers, they was a special bunch. They could run, they could jump, they could catch. They was tough, they was smart, they was everything you’d want in a football player. It was fun watchin’ them play, that’s for sure. They were always tryin’ to outdo each other, trying to be number one. It was a real competition, and they put on a good show.
It was just different back then. Football was somethin’ else in the 2000s. These wide receivers, they was a big part of it. They were the stars of the show, makin’ them big plays. People would come from miles around just to see ’em play. They were somethin’ special, I tell ya. They were the talk of the town, those fellas.

These wide receivers, they had it all. Speed, strength, smarts. They knew how to play the game, and they played it hard. They weren’t afraid to get hit, and they always got back up. That’s what made them so good. You can’t teach that kind of toughness. You either got it or you don’t, and these boys had it. They were the best 2000s wide receivers because they worked hard, played hard, and never gave up.
The game was sure different in the 2000s. It was a little bit rougher back then. Not so many rules. That made those wide receivers even tougher. They had to be, to play in that time. They sure don’t make ’em like they used to, them 2000s wide receivers.
Well, that’s my two cents on them 2000s wide receivers. They was somethin’ else, I tell ya. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. You won’t see another group like that for a long time. They was one of a kind, that’s for sure.
