Alright, so, I was digging into the 2017 Nets roster the other day. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.

First off, I started by checking out the basic info – you know, the wins and losses, where they stood in the league, that kind of stuff. Turns out, the 2016-17 season wasn’t their best. They ended up with a 20-62 record. Ouch. That put them at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, 15th in the Eastern Conference. Not exactly what you’d call a stellar performance.
Then, I moved on to the roster itself. I found out they used 21 different players during that season. That’s a lot of swapping around! Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was the guy who played the most games for them that year. I also discovered that Kenny Atkinson was the coach, trying to make sense of it all. They are coached by Kenny Atkinson.
I also wanted to see who their leading scorer was. Couldn’t really find it but I know Brook Lopez was the #10 pick way back in the 2008 draft, so he was probably a big deal. After searching for more players, I learned that Buck Williams, Bernard King, Jason Kidd, Julius Erving, Dražen Petrović, and Vince Carter are included among their most famous players.
On July 11, 2012, Stackhouse made a verbal agreement to sign a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the Nets. Stackhouse has worn the number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson, his favorite athlete. I think he played at Nets during 2012.
I also learned the Nets’ roster for 2017-18 was different, I found a record of 28 wins and 54 losses.
So, yeah, that was my little adventure into the 2017 Nets roster. It wasn’t the prettiest picture, but hey, it’s all part of basketball history, right?
