Okay, so I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and I finally decided to put together my list of the best shooting guards of all time. It wasn’t easy, you know? There are so many great players who have played this position over the years.
First off, I spent hours, I mean literally hours, watching old game footage. I started with some of the older guys, like Hal Greer. Man, this guy is probably one of the most underrated players ever. Not a lot of people talk about him these days, but he was a beast back in the day when he played for the Syracuse Nationals and the Philadelphia 76ers. I mean, at the time he retired, he was the all-time leader in games played! So I dug into his career stats, watched some grainy old videos, and yeah, he definitely deserves a spot on the list.
Then, I moved on to more recent players. I rewatched some classic games, you know, the ones that everyone always talks about.
And of course, I had to include Michael Jordan. I mean, come on, the guy’s a legend. 30.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists – those are insane numbers! I spent a whole afternoon just watching his highlights, and I was still blown away. His athleticism, his scoring ability, his defense…he had the whole package.
I also looked at guys like Sam Jones, another legend. It was tough comparing players from different eras, but you gotta give credit where it’s due.
I made a huge list. Seriously, it was massive. Then I started narrowing it down, which was the hardest part. I had to make some tough choices, leaving out some really great players. It was a real struggle, to be honest.
After a lot of back and forth, I finally came up with my top list. It’s just my opinion, of course, but I feel pretty good about it. I think I’ve got a good mix of players from different eras, and I tried to consider not just their stats, but also their impact on the game.
So yeah, that’s how I did it. It was a fun project, but also a lot of work. But hey, I’m happy with the result, and I hope you guys enjoy my list of the best shooting guards ever!
