Alright, let’s talk about them soccer gear brands, you know, the stuff them young’uns wear when they kickin’ that ball around. I don’t know much about fancy stuff, but I see things, ya know? I see what them kids are wearin’ and I hear ’em jabberin’ about it.
First off, there’s that Adidas brand. I see that name everywhere. Seems like every other kid got them three stripes on their shoes or shirts. Heard tell they been around since, what, nineteen forty-nine? That’s a long time, even for an old woman like me! They got them shoes they call Predators or somethin’. Fancy names, I tell ya. Them fellas, Messi and Pogba, them soccer stars, they wear ’em. So they gotta be good, right? Folks say Adidas makes the best balls too. I wouldn’t know, a ball’s a ball to me, but they say Adidas balls are just a little bit better than the rest. Gareth Bale, that fella with the funny hair, he wears Adidas too. And that Salah fella, the one who runs real fast, he’s wearin’ Adidas too.
Then there’s this Nike brand. Heard of it, right? Can’t miss it, that swoosh thingy looks like a check mark to me. They all over the place too. Kids love them Nikes, seems like almost as much as them Adidas. They got all sorts of shoes and clothes. Don’t know nothin’ about their balls, but folks say they good too. Guess it’s like pickin’ between two kinds of apples, both good, just depends on what you like, I reckon.

- Nike: That swoosh thingy, real popular, kids like it. Good stuff too, I guess.
Now, there’s other brands too, I hear. Puma, I think they call it? Seen a few kids wearin’ that. And Under Armour, that’s another one. They got all sorts of tight-fittin’ shirts and stuff. Keeps ’em warm, I guess. Don’t see ’em as much as Adidas and Nike, though. Maybe they ain’t as popular, or maybe they just for special folks. I don’t know.
It all gets so confusin’, all these brands and names. Back in my day, we just wore whatever we had. Didn’t matter if it had stripes or swooshes or nothin’. We just played. But these kids today, they gotta have the right gear, the right shoes, the right everything. I guess it makes ’em feel good, makes ’em feel like them soccer stars on TV.
And speaking of gear, you gotta have the right boots, they say. Lacing up your boots, that’s what they do before a game. Whether they’re playin’ in some big stadium or just down at the local field, them boots are important. Gotta protect their feet, gotta help ’em run fast and kick hard. I see them boots, all different colors and styles. Some got spikes, some got them fancy sock things on ’em. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me, but I guess it matters to them kids.
And then there’s the shirts and shorts and socks. Gotta have the whole kit, they say. Team colors, gotta match. And they got them shin guards too, to protect their legs. Smart, I guess. Don’t want to get kicked in the shins, that’s gotta hurt. Heard tell some of them shirts wick away the sweat or somethin’. Keeps ’em dry, I guess. Back in my day, we just sweated and got wet and didn’t complain. But these kids, they got all the fancy stuff.
So there you have it, that’s what I know about them soccer gear brands. Adidas, Nike, Puma, Under Armour, and a whole bunch of others I can’t even remember. They all make stuff for playin’ soccer, and them kids love it. Makes ’em feel good, makes ’em feel like they can run faster and kick harder. And that’s all that matters, I reckon. Let ’em play, let ’em have fun, let ’em wear their fancy gear. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
