Okay, so I’ve been digging into the Green Bay Packers’ tight ends over the past decade. It’s been a real mixed bag, you know? I started by pulling up a bunch of old articles and stats, trying to piece together who the main players were and how they did.

First off, I made a list of all the tight ends that have been on the roster since, like, 2013. Names like Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless, and even Bubba Franks popped up. Then I tried remembering which ones actually saw some serious game time and who was riding the bench or stuck on special teams.
I spent a good chunk of time looking at their stats – receptions, touchdowns, that kind of thing. Jermichael Finley was a name that kept coming up. Seems like he was a big deal for a while, racking up some solid numbers before he got hurt. And apparently, there was this guy Paul Coffman who was great back in the day, too.
- Jermichael Finley: This guy was a beast! I saw some of his highlights, and wow, he could really move for a big guy. It’s a shame injuries cut his career short.
- Andrew Quarless: He was around for a bit, had a few decent seasons. Not a superstar, but a solid player from what I can tell.
- Bubba Franks: This dude was apparently a touchdown machine in the red zone. I saw some old clips – a big, strong guy, hard to bring down.
Then I started looking at the more recent guys. They drafted a few players, like, in 2022 they had Nate Becker, Sal Cannella, and Tyler Davis, but none of them really became stars. I even found out they recently let go of an offensive lineman named Luke Tenuta, who they picked up off waivers. He barely played, and then he got injured. It’s tough luck. The NFL can be brutal.
Honestly, going through all this made me realize how much turnover there is in the NFL, especially at a position like a tight end. Guys come and go, some have a few good years, others never really get a chance. It’s a constant search for that next big star, you know?
After hours down this rabbit hole, I’ve got a better appreciation for what these guys go through. It’s a tough job, and only a few really make it big. But hey, that’s football, right?
And that’s pretty much how I spent my day – nerding out on Packers’ tight end history. I’m no expert, but it’s been a fun little project.
