Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Marta Jersey thing, ya know? I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just gonna tell ya what I know, how I see it. This Marta girl, she’s a soccer player, a good one, they say. Folks keep yappin’ ‘bout her, so she must be somethin’ special.
Now, they say she’s got goals, lots of ‘em. Heard tell she scored more goals for Brazil than anyone, somethin’ like 119 goals they say. That’s a whole lotta goals, more than chickens I got in the coop, that’s for sure! And in them World Cup thingies, she scored a bunch too, 17 they say. Most anyone ever scored in that whole shebang. Imagine that! Kickin’ that ball into the net, again and again and again. Must be tiring, all that runnin’ and kickin’.
Seems like everybody who knows about soccer knows this Marta. She’s like, uh… famous, real famous. They say she’s got a “legacy.” Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds important. Like when old man Johnson left that big ol’ farm to his grandkids, that was his legacy, I guess. This Marta, her legacy is kickin’ balls, I reckon.
- She plays for Brazil. That’s a country, far away, I think. Never been there myself.
- They say she might win some gold medal this summer. Gold’s worth somethin’, right? Good for sellin’, I hear.
- And this World Cup thing, that’s a big deal too. Folks get all worked up about it.
They also talk about some goals she scored in 2007. Must’ve been some fancy goals, for folks to still be talkin’ about ‘em all these years later. I remember 2007, that was the year my Bessie cow had twins! Now that was somethin’. But these soccer folks, they care more ‘bout balls than cows, I guess.
Now, this Marta, she plays in some league, NWSL they call it. And even if she don’t win no championship, they say she’s still great. Like, she’s already proved herself, ya know? Kinda like how my apple pie is the best in the county, even if I don’t win no blue ribbon at the fair every year. It’s just good, that’s all.
Heard there’s shirts, you know, jerseys, with her name on ‘em. Folks wear ‘em to show they like her, I guess. Like wearin’ that John Deere hat to show you’re a farmer. These Marta jerseys, they sell ‘em online, I hear. Some fella named HeyLegend sells ‘em, outta the United States. Don’t know who that is, but if he’s sellin’ Marta jerseys, he must be doin’ alright. And folks are buyin’ ‘em, talkin’ ‘bout ‘em online, on that “Goal Global” thing. Lots of likes and comments, like folks doin’ on their computery things these days.
And just the other day, they say she broke another record. This girl just keeps on goin’, seems like. Breakin’ records, scorin’ goals, sellin’ jerseys. She’s a busy one, that Marta. More power to her, I say. As long as she ain’t botherin’ nobody, and she’s makin’ folks happy, that’s all that matters, right? Just like my apple pie. Makes folks happy, and that’s good enough for me.
So, that’s what I know ‘bout this Marta Jersey thing. She’s a soccer player, a good one, and folks like her enough to wear her name on their shirts. Seems like a good thing, all around. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.
