Okay, so I wanted to put together the 2004 Atlanta Falcons roster, and I figured, why not document the whole messy process? So here’s how it went down.

The Initial Brain Dump
First, I just needed to get my head around what I was looking for. I knew I wanted the full roster, not just the star players. That meant offense, defense, special teams – the whole shebang. I started by jotting down the names I could remember off the top of my head. You know, the big ones like Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, Rod Coleman… that kind of thing.
Digging Through the Internet
Obviously, my memory wasn’t going to cut it. So, I started hitting up the internet. I wanted to double-check, triple-check, and then check again to make sure I wasn’t missing anyone or putting someone on the wrong team by accident.
Building the List (and Checking it Twice!)
I started pulling all the names and positions. It got a little tedious, I’m not gonna lie. Lots of scrolling, lots of checking, and double-checking spellings.
Here are a few I put down that I can remember:
- Quarterbacks: I easy started with Quarterbacks, adding down Michael Vick and Matt Schaub.
- Running Backs: Warrick Dunn, T.J. Duckett.
- Linebackers: Keith Brooking,
- Others I Forget: I know for sure there are others that I listed down, but I can’t remember now off the top of my head, I wrote a lot!
The Final Product (or at least, my version of it)
Finally, I had a list that I felt pretty good about. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure some super-fan out there could find something I missed, but for my purposes, it did the trick. I can now always go back and review the names when I need to.
It wasn’t the most glamorous project, but hey, sometimes you just gotta get your hands dirty and build something from scratch, right? That’s what I did and that’s how I got my answer. Pretty simple!
