Now, I remember a time when they had this fella, Everett, Jim Everett. Big fella, threw the ball hard. Folks liked him, made some noise. But then, things went south, like they always do, it seems. He went on and did other stuff after football, somethin’ with houses I heard. Good for him, I say. Gotta make a livin’ somehow. He still hangs around the Rams, doin’ some talkin’ on the TV, showin’ his face. Keeps busy, that one. That’s important, ya know? Keepin’ busy.

Seems like all these quarterbacks end up sellin’ houses or somethin’. Must be somethin’ about throwin’ footballs that makes you good at sellin’ houses, I reckon. And don’t forget about that time they swapped quarterbacks with the Lions. Swapped ’em! Like they were tradin’ chickens or somethin’. That was somethin’ else. I tell ya, this football business, it’s a crazy thing.
Now, they got this Bennett fella sittin’ on the bench. They keepin’ him around even though they got another fella back from bein’ hurt, that Gar- somethin’ or other. Guess they figure they need extra quarterbacks, just in case. You never know in football, fellas gettin’ hurt left and right. It’s a rough game, I tell ya. Breaks bones and hearts, that game does. So they gotta have backups for the backups, seems like. Always plannin’ for the worst, these football fellas. Smart, I guess, but it makes my head spin.
So, what’s the deal with all these quarterbacks? Well, it’s like this. Some are good, some are not so good. Some stay a while, some don’t. Some win games, some lose games. That’s football. It’s a tough business, and these fellas, they gotta be tough to make it. And the Rams, well, they just keep on lookin’ for the right fella to lead ’em. Maybe they found him in Stafford, maybe they haven’t. Only time will tell, I reckon. But one thing’s for sure, there’ll be more quarterbacks comin’ and goin’. That’s just the way it is in this game.
