Okay, so I wanted to dive deep into the 2004 Oakland Raiders roster. You know, really get into the weeds and see what that team was all about. I’ve always been fascinated by that era of football, so this was a fun little project for me.

First, I started by just trying to find a reliable source for the roster. It’s not like these things are always super easy to dig up, especially for a team from 20 years ago! I bounced around a few different websites, some of which looked pretty sketchy, to be honest. Finally, I landed on a site that looked legit and seemed to have a complete list.
Digging into the Players
Once I had the roster in front of me, I started going through it name by name. I wanted to refresh my memory on who was on that team, what their positions were, and maybe even a little bit about their stats.
- Quarterbacks: Of course, Rich Gannon was the big name there. But you also had Kerry Collins and Marques Tuiasosopo. I spent a little time looking up their individual stats from that season, just to get a sense of how things played out.
- Running Backs: Tyrone Wheatley, Zack Crockett… those were some familiar names! I remembered them being a pretty solid duo. Again, I checked out their rushing yards and touchdowns, just to confirm my memories.
- Wide Receivers: Jerry Rice and Tim Brown… legends! It was crazy to think they were both on the same team at that point in their careers. I looked at their receiving stats, and man, even in their later years, they were still putting up numbers.
- Defense: I poked around the defensive side of the ball too, checking out guys like Charles Woodson and Warren Sapp. I wanted to see how many tackles, sacks, and interceptions they had.
Putting it all Together
After I went through the whole roster, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on that 2004 Raiders team. It was cool to revisit that era and remember some of those players. It’s amazing how much football history is out there, just waiting to be rediscovered!
It was a simple process, really. Just finding the information, reading through it, and organizing it in my head. But it was definitely a rewarding way to spend some time, reliving a little bit of football history.
