Okay, so I’ve been digging into some old NFL stuff lately, and I got totally sucked into the 2006 New York Giants roster. I wanted to put together a resource, kind of like a one-stop-shop for anyone else interested in that team.

First, I started by just generally searching around. I mean, that’s where you gotta start, right? I just typed “2006 ny giants roster” into a search engine and browsed the usual spots.
Then, I realized I needed a more systematic approach. I decided to really break it down position by position. This helped me stay organized.
Quarterbacks
- I found that Eli Manning was the main guy, of course.
- Then, I looked up the backups, and saw Tim Hasselbeck and a guy named Jared Lorenzen listed.
Running Backs
- Tiki Barber! Man, what a player. I remembered him being huge that year.
- I also discovered Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward were in the mix, too.
I kept going like this for each position – wide receivers, tight ends, the offensive line. I wanted to get the full picture.
Defense
The defensive side took a little more digging. I focused on:
- Finding the defensive line starters.
- Identifying key linebackers, like Antonio Pierce.
- Figuring out who was in the secondary.
Special Teams
- I remembered to record the punters, place kickers etc.
I then double-checked a bunch of different websites, just to make sure I wasn’t missing anyone or getting names wrong. It’s easy to make mistakes with these things.
Finally, I compiled all this info into my own notes. I basically now have my own personal database of the 2006 Giants roster! It was a fun little project, and it’s cool to look back at that team and remember some of those players.
