Okay, so today I wanna talk about the Denver basketball coach. I’ve been following the Nuggets for a while, and this guy, Michael Malone, he’s really something else. Let me tell you about my little journey digging into his career.

First off, I started with the basics. You know, just a simple search to get the lay of the land. I wanted to know where this guy came from, what his history was. I typed in “Michael Malone coaching career” and went from there.
The early days were interesting. I found out that he wasn’t a big-shot player or anything. He started small, you know? He began as an assistant coach, worked his way up through college basketball, then made the leap to the NBA. The first thing I did was I found some old articles from when he was just starting out. It’s pretty cool to see how far he’s come.
- I dug into his time with Oakland University. He was an assistant there. I read about the games they played.
- Then, there was Providence College. Same deal, assistant coach, but it looked like he was starting to get noticed.
- Jumped to Manhattan College.
- Finally, he made it to the NBA as an assistant with the New York Knicks.
After that, I looked into his first head coaching gig. That was with the Sacramento Kings. Didn’t go great, I won’t lie. He got fired after a season and a bit. But it was a learning experience, right? I found a bunch of old forum posts and articles from back then. People were pretty harsh, but hey, that’s the internet for you.
Then comes the Denver Nuggets. He joined them in 2015, and that’s where things really started to pick up. I watched some interviews with him from around that time. He seemed really determined, you could see he had a vision for the team.
I started following the Nuggets more closely after that. I watched a bunch of their games, kept an eye on the stats, you know, the whole nine yards. It was clear Malone was building something special. He developed this core of young players, especially Nikola Jokic, and turned them into a real force.
The next thing I did was try to find some behind-the-scenes stuff. I managed to find a few articles about his coaching style, how he interacts with players, his strategies, that sort of thing. It was pretty insightful. It sounds like he’s a real players’ coach, but he’s also tough when he needs to be.
Championship Season
And then, boom, the 2023 season happened. The Nuggets went all the way and won the championship! I was glued to the TV for every game of the playoffs. It was amazing to see all that hard work pay off. I even found some clips of Malone’s speeches to the team during the playoffs. Talk about inspiring!
After they won, I went back and read a bunch of articles about Malone’s role in the victory. Everyone was praising him, and rightly so. He’d taken this team from the bottom to the top. It was a real underdog story. I even saved a few of those articles, just to remind myself that anything is possible if you put in the work.
So, yeah, that’s my little dive into Michael Malone’s career. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m definitely going to keep following him and the Nuggets. Who knows what they’ll achieve next? I mean, what a great journey. I’m excited to see what he does next.
