Today, I wanna share something about Ikumi Nakamura. If you played games, you may have heard of this name, right?

So, first, I got really interested in her after I saw the news somewhere. It mentioned that she left Tango in September 2019. It seems like she became famous overnight. Then I was wondering, “Who is she? Why is she so popular?”
I started digging around. First thing I did was watch a YouTube video that showed up when I searched her name. She talked a little about her career in the video. She mentioned that she started a new game studio. This made me even more curious.
I went on reading some articles. One article talked about a conversation between her and Shinji Mikami. You know, the guy who created Resident Evil. It seems like they talked about a lot of stuff, even some highlights of Resident Evil.
- I remember that Resident Evil is a big deal for many people, and it holds a special place in my heart as well.
- This reminded me that Shinji Mikami directed Resident Evil and many other games when he was at Capcom.
- It got me thinking about how much he has influenced the game industry.
Then I read another article, saying that she left Tango because of her health, and came back to head a new studio with a good work/life balance. That’s pretty inspiring, right? I mean, who wouldn’t want a job with a good work/life balance?
Another thing I found out is that someone thought Shinji Mikami became a project lead on his own at Xbox, but actually, he didn’t. That was a wrong message, but it’s interesting how people can get the wrong idea sometimes.
So, after all this digging, I realized Ikumi Nakamura is a pretty big name in the gaming world. She’s worked on some big projects and now she’s leading her own studio. It’s pretty cool to see someone taking charge of their career like that.

I’m really curious about what games her new studio will make. I hope they’ll be as good as the ones she’s worked on before. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure of learning about Ikumi Nakamura. It’s always fun to learn about the people behind the games we love.
