Okay, so the other day I was watching an NBA game with my buddies, and this giant dude comes onto the court. I mean, this guy was HUGE. We got to talking, and it sparked a question in my head: Who’s the heaviest player in the NBA?

So, I grabbed my phone and started poking around the internet. First, I searched for the heaviest active player, just to see who’s the biggest guy playing right now.
Turns out, it’s Jusuf Nurkić. This guy is a beast! The info I found says he’s 7 feet tall and weighs in at a whopping 290 pounds. Can you imagine trying to move that guy out of the paint? No, thanks!
But then I got curious about the past. Who was the heaviest dude to ever play in the league? I did another search and found out about this guy named Oliver Miller.
Apparently, he started his career at around 280 pounds, which is already massive. But get this, he got even heavier as his career went on! Some websites said he eventually got up to around 375 pounds. That’s just insane. I can’t even imagine how someone that big could run up and down the court.
- Boban Marjanović: Another current player who’s listed at 290 pounds. He’s also Serbian, just like Nurkić. Maybe it’s something in the water over there!
- Isaiah Stewart II: This guy plays for the Detroit Pistons. He’s not as heavy as the others, but at 250 pounds, he’s still a big boy.
Some other big fellas I stumbled upon:
I kept digging and found some more names, but those were the main ones that stuck out. It’s wild to think about these guys playing professional basketball at that size. It just goes to show you that there’s a place for all body types in the NBA, even the super-sized ones. After this little research session, I definitely have a new appreciation for the big guys in the league. It’s not easy carrying all that weight around, especially when you’re going up against other giants!
