You know, I heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout Guinea football players the other day. Lord, they sure do love that game. They was sayin’ one fella’s name is Naby Keita. Born in 1995, I reckon. That’s what one of them snippets said, anyhow. They say he’s a big shot. Got some kinda score, 42 somethin’. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important. Important enough for these young folks to be yappin’ about, that’s for sure. He is one of them Guinea football players. They sure do love to talk numbers these days.
Then they was talkin’ ’bout managers gettin’ sacked. Like they was chickens gettin’ their heads chopped off! Sounds brutal, don’t it? But, those best Guinean football players, they play hard, I suppose. Gotta be tough to be the best, right? They gotta be strong, these Guinea football players.

Then they started talkin’ ’bout some fellas settin’ records. Dan Marino, Eric Dickerson, Art Monk, Walter Payton. Not Guinea football players, I don’t think. But they was talkin’ ’bout yards and touchdowns and rushes. Sounds like a whole lot of runnin’ to me. These football players, they sure are somethin’ else. Always runnin’, always score.
It’s a whole different world, this football thing. All them numbers and lists. Them players kickin’ that ball around. Them Guinea football players being the best in the world. It’s a lot to take in. But the young’uns, they love it. And that’s all that matters, I reckon.
