Well, let me tell you, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout them Dallas Cowboys the other day. Got me thinkin’ ’bout all them football fellers, specially them linebackers. They the ones in the middle, right? Always in the thick of it. So, I did a little digging around, you know how it is.

Now, I ain’t no expert, but I learned a thing or two ’bout the history of them Dallas Cowboys linebackers. Long time ago, they weren’t even called the Cowboys! Can you believe that? They was called the Steers first, then the Rangers. Finally, back in 1960, they became the Dallas Cowboys. Lordy, that’s a long time ago.
They say this team, the Cowboys, they’re somethin’ special. Called ’em America’s Team one time, and it stuck, I guess. Don’t know ’bout all that, but they sure do got a lot of fans. And they won them Super Bowls, five of ’em, they say. They talk about that as if it is the most important thing in the world. I don’t see it, but okay.
I reckon them Dallas Cowboys linebackers, they played a big part in them wins. Gotta be tough as nails to play that game. Smashin’ into each other like that, mercy!
- DeMarcus Ware
- Chuck Howley
- Lee Roy Jordan
These names kept poppin’ up. Heard a lot about that DeMarcus Ware fella. Played from 2005 to 2013. Big fella, strong, I bet. Then there’s this Chuck Howley. He’s from an older generation. They say he was an “all-pro” five times. That means he must be a good player, right? And six times to somethin’ called the “Pro Bowl.” Sounds fancy. And six feet two inches tall! Lord, have mercy. He is huge.
Another name I heard was Lee Roy Jordan. Seems like he was a big deal back in the day, too. They say these fellas are the best to ever wear that star. You know, that star on the Cowboys’ helmets. Shiny thing.
Now, I don’t know much about pickin’ players, but I hear them Cowboys, they’re good at pickin’ them big fellas for the front line. Somethin’ ’bout offensive linemen. Don’t know what that means exactly, but they seem to be doin’ somethin’ right. Heard they picked some fella named Tyler Smith recently. Hope he’s a good one.

These Dallas Cowboys linebackers, they got a long history, that’s for sure. Lots of names, lots of games. It’s all a bit much for me, to be honest. But it’s interestin’ to hear about.
I remember hearin’ folks talk ’bout a fella named Jerry Trotta. Don’t know if he played or what, but his name came up. There’re so many names when it comes to this history.
Dallas Cowboys linebacker history is surely long and complicated. They went through so many name changes. And there are so many names of the players that contributed to the team. I can’t remember all of them, but those few names above are the ones that stuck with me. I guess there are many more stories to tell. But it’s enough for one day, I think. Time for a little rest.
It’s a tough game, that football. Them Cowboys linebackers, they earn their keep, I reckon. Smashin’ and crashin’, runnin’ and jumpin’. Not for me, thank you very much. I am too old for that. But I can see why folks get excited ’bout it.
I don’t know if there will be more famous linebackers in the future for the Cowboys. I hope they pick them good. But there are a lot of big fellas out there, I reckon there will be more good ones. Then, there will be more Dallas Cowboys linebackers history to talk about, I guess.
Well, that’s all I got to say ’bout them Dallas Cowboys and their linebackers. It’s been a long day, and my old bones are tired. Hope you learned somethin’ from this old lady’s ramblin’s. Time for me to get off my feet. Maybe I’ll have some pie.
