Well, let me tell ya, there was this big to-do, a real humdinger of a game competition over in that Saudi Arabia place. Folks call it the “call of duty saudi arabia tournament,” or somethin’ like that. Sounded mighty fancy to me.
Big Money and Big Names
Now, I ain’t no gamer, ya hear? But even I could tell this was a big deal. They had a whole bunch of teams, like sixteen of ’em, all the way from different parts of the world. And the money? Lord have mercy, they were throwin’ around money like it was nothin’. Millions and millions of dollars, they said. Enough to make your head spin.
- They called it the Esports World Cup, somethin’ or other. Held it right there in Riyadh, that big city in Saudi Arabia.
- And them Saudi folks, they had their own team, called the Falcons. Seemed like real good players, them Falcons.
This “call of duty” game, it’s one of them shootin’ games, I reckon. Kids these days, always with the shootin’ and the bang-bangin’. But these fellas, they were good at it. Real good. They were shootin’ and scootin’ and winnin’ all sorts of prizes.
Them Falcons Done Won It All
The best part, though, was seein’ them Saudi Falcons win the whole darn thing. Yep, they beat out all them other teams and took home the big trophy. And the money? Seven million dollars, they say! Can you imagine? That’s enough to buy a whole heap of cows and chickens, let me tell ya.
The whole thing lasted a few days, they say. From August fifteenth to eighteenth, to be exact. Don’t ask me how I know, somebody told me. And it wasn’t just this “call of duty” game, neither. They had all sorts of other games, too. Twenty-one different ones, if you can believe it. Kids these days, they got too much time on their hands, I tell ya.
More Than Just a Game
But it wasn’t just about the games, see? It was a big ol’ event. They had this big ceremony at the end, and even the Crown Prince, that’s like the king’s son, he showed up. He gave them Falcons their trophy and their money. It was a real proud moment for them Saudis, I reckon.
A Whole Lotta Gamers
They said there were, like, fifteen hundred of these gamer folks there. Fifteen hundred! That’s more people than live in my whole town, I swear. They came from all over, just to play these games and win some money. Seems like a funny way to make a livin’, but hey, to each their own, I always say.
Sixty Million Dollars!
And the whole shebang, the whole tournament, they had a prize pool of sixty million dollars. Sixty million! That’s more money than I’ll ever see in my whole life, and then some. They gave out that money to the winners of all them different games. Some got more, some got less, but everybody got somethin’, I reckon.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. This big “call of duty saudi arabia tournament” over in that Saudi place. Lots of games, lots of money, and them Saudi Falcons winnin’ it all. It was a big to-do, that’s for sure. And that’s all there is to it, as far as I’m concerned.
