Alright, listen up y’all, we gonna talk about them Buffalo Bills tight ends, you hear? Don’t you go expectin’ no fancy words from me, I just tell it like it is. We gonna go way back and work our way up to them fellas playin’ now.
The Old Days, You Know, Way Back When
Now, I ain’t gonna lie, I don’t remember all them fellas from way back when, but they tell me the Bills, they been around a good long while. Won some championships way back in the 60s, that’s what they say. Back then, I reckon they had tight ends too, but shoot, nobody remembers them fellas much. They say some fella named Paul Costa, he was good, made somethin’ called a “Pro Bowl” back in ’66. Imagine that! That’s a long, long time ago.

- 1980s and 1990s: Folks talk about Keith McKeller, he played a bit in the late 80s, early 90s. Then there’s this Jay Riemersma fella, they picked him up in the draft in ’96, played a good while for the Bills.
Them Super Bowl Years, and the Fellas After
Them Bills, they went to the Super Bowl a whole bunch of times back in the 90s, but darn it, they couldn’t win one. Had some good players, though, Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas, big names, everyone knows them. But the tight ends, they were important too, blockin’ and catchin’ balls, you know. They didn’t always get the glory, but they did the dirty work, that’s for sure.
The Last Twenty Years or So, the Tight Ends I Seen
Now, the last twenty years, that’s when I started payin’ a bit more attention. Not that I understood everything, mind you, but I seen them fellas runnin’ around. It’s hard to keep track, all them comin’ and goin’. They had a whole bunch of ’em, some good, some not so good. You know how it is, one year they’re here, next year they’re gone.
The Guys They Got Now, These Young Bucks
Alright, now we’re talkin’ about the fellas playin’ now, the 2023 bunch. They got this Dawson Knox fella, he’s pretty good, even made that Pro Bowl thing last year, just like that Paul fella way back when. Then there’s this Quintin Morris, he’s out there too. And they got a new fella, Dalton Kincaid, supposed to be real good, but he got hurt, missed a game. And don’t forget Reggie Gilliam, he’s a fullback, but he helps out with the tight end stuff too, blocks them big fellas on the other team.
Why Them Tight Ends Matter, You Know
Now, some folks, they just watch the quarterbacks and them fellas runnin’ with the ball. But them tight ends, they important. They gotta block, keep them quarterbacks safe, so they can throw the ball. And they gotta catch the ball too, make them big plays when you need ’em. It ain’t easy, all that runnin’ and hittin’, gotta be tough to play that position. They do all the dirty work, like I said before. Somebody gotta do it, right?
So, Who’s the Best? Well, That’s Hard to Say
Folks always arguin’ about who’s the best, who’s the greatest. But shoot, I don’t know. They all good in their own way. Paul Costa, he was good back in his day. Jay Riemersma, he played a long time. Dawson Knox, he’s doin’ good now. And who knows, maybe this Dalton Kincaid fella, he’ll be the best one yet, once he gets healthy. It’s hard to compare them fellas from different times, you know? The game changes, the players change.
Buffalo Bills Tight Ends, a Whole Bunch of ‘Em
So, there you have it, a little bit about them Buffalo Bills tight ends. From way back when to right now. A whole bunch of fellas wore that Bills uniform, blockin’ and catchin’ and tryin’ to win games. Some famous, some not so famous. But they all part of the story, you know? They all part of the Buffalo Bills history. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
This Year and the Future, Who Knows?
This year, well, we’ll see what happens. They got them young fellas, Knox and Kincaid and Morris and Gilliam. Hopefully, they stay healthy and play good. And who knows what the future holds? Maybe they’ll find another great tight end in the draft, or maybe one of these young fellas will become a superstar. That’s the thing about football, you just never know. But one thing’s for sure, them tight ends, they’ll be out there, doin’ their job, tryin’ to help the Bills win. And that’s all you can ask for, right?
