Well, let me tell you somethin’ about them Croatian basketball players. Those fellas, they’re somethin’ else. I seen ’em on the TV, jumpin’ and runnin’. Tall as trees, they are. They sure know how to handle that orange ball.
One fella, Petro-somethin’, Dražen Petrović, they say he was the best. Like a god, they called him. He’s gone now, bless his soul. But he was somethin’ to watch, I tell ya. Always throwin’ the ball, swish, swish, right in the net.
And that other one, Toni Kukoč. He played with that Jordan fella, the one with the shoes. That Kukoč, he was a big shot too. They won a lot, those two. And some others are famous, too. Like, Dino Rađa, Krešimir Ćosić. They played well, and won some medals.
Croatia, that’s a little country, ain’t it? But they got some mighty fine basketball players. Always playin’ in those big games, Olympics and such. They even won some medals, shiny ones. Bronze, I reckon. Better than nothin’, right?
They got some young ones comin’ up too, I hear. Playin’ in America, in that NBA thing. Big names now, makin’ lots of money. Good for them, I say. Work hard, get rewarded. That’s the way it should be.

They run fast, these Croatian basketball players. Up and down the court, like rabbits. And jumpin’? Lordy, they can jump. Reach the sky, almost. And they’re strong too. Gotta be, to push them other fellas around.
I don’t know all their names, mind you. Too many to keep track of. But I know they’re good. Representin’ their country, makin’ everyone proud. That’s what matters, ain’t it? Doin’ your best, playin’ hard, and bein’ a good sport.
They play in that National Basketball Association, that’s the big league. The best of the best. And them Croatian basketball players, they hold their own. They ain’t afraid of nobody. They go out there and they play their hearts out.
Now, in that 2020-21 NBA Season, some of ’em played real good. Made a lot of points, helped their teams win. I don’t remember all the numbers, numbers ain’t my strong suit. But I know they did good.
That Dražen Petrović, he was a real star. They called him the “Mozart of Basketball.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? He must’ve been real special to get a name like that. He died young, in a car crash. Sad, real sad. But people still remember him, talk about him all the time. They even put him in some Hall of Fame. He must have been that good.
Basketball, it’s a popular game. Lots of folks watch it. Even me, sometimes. It’s excitin’, seein’ them run and jump and score. And them Croatian basketball players, they’re always in the thick of it. They never quit.
They practice a lot, I reckon. Gotta stay in shape, runnin’ up and down like that. And they gotta learn all them plays, how to pass the ball, how to shoot it just right. It ain’t as easy as it looks.
It looks like every Croatian basketball players all played in EuroBasket, the FIBA Basketball World Cup. These are big games.
I remember seein’ one of them games on TV. Them Croatian basketball players were playin’ against some other country. It was a close game, right down to the wire. Everyone was yellin’ and screamin’. My heart was poundin’, I tell ya. And they won! They actually won! It was somethin’ else.
So, yeah, them Croatian basketball players, they’re somethin’ special. They got talent, they got heart, and they got that fire in their belly. They make their country proud, and they give us all somethin’ to cheer about. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? Keep playin’ hard, boys, and keep makin’ us proud!
I don’t know about any basketball players named Benjamin Stevenson. Maybe he plays some other sport.
