Okay, so I got curious about the Bengals’ running back history, and man, did I fall down a rabbit hole! I wanted to see who the top rushers were and, you know, just get a better sense of the team’s history on the ground.

First, I started with a basic search. I just wanted a list to start. I’m trying to get a general view about bengals rb history, so I googled some simple words like “Bengals all-time leading rushers”.
Digging through the search result
I found some websites listing the top Bengals rushers. So I grabbed a pen and paper(old fasion, yeah!) and started jotting down names.
- Corey Dillon
- James Brooks
- Joe Mixon
- Rudi Johnson
- Pete Johnson
Seeing those names, the list is longger than I thought, I noticed that some guys I’d heard of, some I hadn’t. and I am a new fan of Bengals. So that’s cool! I decided to look up some of their individual stats.
So, I went back to searching, but this time I was searching for specific players. Like, “Corey Dillon Bengals stats”. I was trying to get a feel for how many yards they had, how many touchdowns, that kind of stuff. It made me realize just how many workhorse backs the Bengals have had over the years.
Doing all that, I created my own little spreadsheet. Just a simple one, with columns for the player’s name, total rushing yards, touchdowns, and maybe years with the team. That was all I wanted to do!
This little project was fun. I feel like I have a much better understanding of the Bengals’ running game history now. I can follow this history step by step, and now I get the whole picture! I am also planning to keep going to find some information about other positions!
