Heard she got some trouble with the league, the WNBA folks. Somethin’ about a fine, they say. Don’t rightly know what she did, but them fellas in charge, they don’t mess around. If you step outta line, they gonna get ya. That’s what I hear, anyways. Always been like that, ain’t it? Rules is rules, even if they don’t always make sense.
Now, this girl, Angel, she’s got a podcast or somethin’. Talkin’ to folks, like that Lonzo Ball fella. He used to play ball too, if I remember right. Anyways, she’s on there, spillin’ the beans ’bout this fine. Guess she figured she might as well tell her side of the story. Smart girl, that Angel. And this Caitlin Clark girl… people keep pittin’ them against each other. Sayin’ it’s a rivalry. Like them old boxers, you know? Ali and Frazier, that kinda thing. Guess it sells tickets, gets folks watchin’. But these girls, they just playin’ ball. They ain’t tryin’ to fight nobody, far as I can see.
I tell ya, it’s all a big hullabaloo. They makin’ a big deal outta nothin’, seems like. But that’s how it goes, ain’t it? Them TV folks, they gotta have somethin’ to talk about. And these young athletes, they just tryin’ to make a livin’, play the game they love. Can’t fault ‘em for that.
Heard somethin’ ’bout the schedule comin’ out for next year. And they plannin’ on makin’ a big deal outta this Reese and Clark thing. More games, more hype, more money, I reckon. That’s how it works, see? They find somethin’ folks wanna see, and they milk it for all it’s worth.
But let me tell you somethin’. These girls, they talented. They work hard. They deserve to be out there playin’. Don’t matter if they rivals or friends or whatever. They puttin’ on a show, and that’s what counts. And if they gettin’ paid for it, well, good for them. They earned it.
So, all this talk about Angel bein’ ineligible or whatever… it’s just noise, far as I’m concerned. She’s playin’ ball. She’s doin’ her thing. Let her be. She’ll figure it out. These young folks, they tougher than we think. They can handle a little bit of trouble. They always do.
And if the WNBA wants to make a big deal outta this rivalry, well, that’s their business. But at the end of the day, it’s just basketball. And these girls, they just playin’ the game. Let’s not forget that.
