Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about some basketball players today, the white fellas who good at throwin’ that ball. You know, the ones they call the best white NBA players. Folks always arguin’ about who’s the best, so let’s just see what I think, alright?
First off, gotta mention that fella, Larry Bird. Yeah, Larry Bird. That hick from French Lick, they called him. Now, I ain’t never been to French Lick, but I reckon it ain’t no big city. This Bird fella, he was somethin’ else though. Folks say he’s the best white player ever, and I ain’t gonna argue too much. He led them Celtics to win a whole bunch of championships back in the eighties. You know, 1981, 1984, and 1986. He could shoot the ball real good, real purdy like. And he was tough, didn’t back down from nobody. That’s why lots of people say he is the tippy-top best white player. He was a real scrapper, that one.
Then there’s this other guy, Nikola Jokić. Now, he ain’t American, I don’t think. Serbian, or somethin’ like that. He’s a big ol’ fella, plays center, you know, down there under the basket. He ain’t as flashy as some of them other fellas, but he gets the job done. He’s real smart, sees the court good, and he can pass that ball like nobody’s business. Folks say he’s one of the best passers in the whole league, not just the best passer for the white fellas, you know? And he can score too, don’t you forget it. He’s got those MVPs, so he must be doin’ somethin’ right.
- He can shoot good.
- He can pass real well.
- And that boy is big, real big.
Now, there are other good white players too, don’t get me wrong. But these two, Bird and Jokić, they stand out. They’re different kinds of players, you know? Bird was more of a shooter, a scorer. Jokić is more of a… a… well, he does everything! He scores, he rebounds, he passes. He’s like a point guard in a big man’s body, if that makes any sense. I don’t know how he does it, but he’s somethin’ special.
Some folks get all worked up about the color of a player’s skin. I don’t get it. If a fella can play, he can play. Don’t matter if he’s black, white, or purple with green spots. But since we talkin’ ’bout the best white players, well, Bird and Jokić, they’re the ones that come to mind first. They’re the ones that made a real name for themselves, the ones that folks still talk about. They got them championships and them awards, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
You know, basketball’s changed a lot over the years. It’s faster now, more athletic. But the good players, they still find a way to win. Bird, he played in a different era, but he woulda been good in any era, I betcha. And Jokić, he’s playin’ now, and he’s one of the best in the league. So, it just goes to show you, talent is talent, no matter when you play or where you come from.
So, there you have it. My two cents on the best white NBA players. Larry Bird, the hick from French Lick, and Nikola Jokić, the big fella from Serbia. Two different players, two different eras, but both great in their own way. Now, go argue with your friends about it, if you want. But that’s what I think, and I’ve seen a lot of basketball in my time, let me tell you.
And listen here, basketball is about more than just winning and losing. It is about working hard and playing as a team. Them boys, they showed us all how it’s done, working hard every day to get better. And that’s something we can all learn from, no matter who we are or where we come from.
