Okay, so I wanted to put together a quick reference for the Steelers 2000 roster. I’m a huge Steelers fan, and sometimes I just like to look back at those old teams. It’s kinda fun to see who was playing back then.
First, I needed to find a good source for the roster. There are a few sites out there, but I wanted something reliable. I ended up using a website I know well, which has always been pretty accurate with this kind of thing.
Once I found the site, I started by just scanning the list. You know, just getting a general feel for the names. I saw a lot of familiar faces – Kordell Stewart, Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward. The good old days!
Then I decided to organize it a bit. So I broke it down by position.
- Quarterbacks: Kordell Stewart, Kent Graham. Those were the main guys I remember.
- Running Backs: Jerome Bettis, of course! “The Bus”! Also Richard Huntley, Chris Fuamatu-Ma’afala.
- Wide Receivers: Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress. Burress was just getting started back then, as I recall.
- Offensive Line: This is where it gets a little hazy for me… I recognized a few names like Alan Faneca, but had to look some of them up to be sure.
- And so on for defense, special team, ect.
After listing them, I also looked up some of the players I didn’t immediately recognize, just to refresh my memory.
It was cool to go back and remember some of those guys. It’s easy to forget players who weren’t superstars, even if they were solid contributors.
Finallly, I checked again the names that I don’t know whether I spell correctly, then I am done. Not the most earth-shattering project, but a fun little trip down memory lane for a Steelers fan like me!
