I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a lazy Sunday, and I was browsing the internet, trying to find some interesting sports data to look at.

I’ve always been a big fan of American football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. So, I started to think about their history, and the 2004 season popped into my head. That was a great year for them. They had some really good players.
I searched for the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles roster on the internet and started to look at the data.
My Process
First, I looked at some websites and tried to collect the player names.
- I found a bunch of pages with different formats. Some had tables, some just lists. It was a real mess.
- I started copying and pasting the names into a spreadsheet. It was slow, but I managed to get most of them.
- Then, I wanted to get their stats, like games played, touchdowns, and stuff like that. That was even harder.
- I ended up going to different websites and manually checking each player, one by one. Took me forever!
After hours of work, I finally had a pretty decent spreadsheet with the 2004 Eagles roster and some basic stats. I felt a sense of accomplishment, even though it was just a simple personal project.
My Findings
- The Eagles had a great season in 2004. They finished with a 13-3 record and made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
- Donovan McNabb was the quarterback, and he was amazing. Brian Westbrook was the running back, and he was super fast.
- They had a tough defense too. They lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, but it was still an incredible season.
This little project reminded me how much I love digging into sports data. Even though it was a pain to collect everything manually, it was totally worth it. I learned a lot about the 2004 Eagles, and it brought back some great memories.
I know it sounds kind of geeky, but this is how I have fun sometimes. I like finding information, organizing it, and learning something new in the process.

Maybe next time, I’ll try to automate the data collection process. It would save me a lot of time and effort. But for now, I’m happy with what I accomplished. I have a nice little spreadsheet with the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles roster, and that’s good enough for me.
