Hey everyone, it’s your boy back at it again with another deep dive into some basketball history. Today, I got sucked into the rabbit hole of the 2001 Cleveland Cavaliers roster, and let me tell you, it was a trip down memory lane.

So, first things first, I fired up my trusty old computer and started digging. I wanted to see who was on that squad, what they did, the whole nine yards. My go-to for this kind of stuff is usually some basketball stats websites.
I started plugging in “cavs 2001 roster” into the search bar. Boom! A bunch of results popped up, showing the full roster, player stats, and even the team’s record for that season. It was like hitting the jackpot, all the info I needed right there. They finished 6th in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference. That’s a bit rough.
I started jotting down some notes, you know, the key players, their positions, and any interesting tidbits I could find. It was a real mixed bag of a team. They had Andre Miller running the point, Matt Harpring at shooting guard, and Lamond Murray holding it down at small forward. The coach was Randy Wittman, a name that definitely rings a bell.
As I went through each player, I started to remember some of them. I mean, who could forget some of these guys? It was fun to see their stats for that season, how many points they averaged, rebounds, assists, all that good stuff. It really paints a picture of how the team performed, or well… maybe didn’t perform.

The Record
Then I looked at the team’s overall record for the 2000-01 season. They ended up with 30 wins and 52 losses. Ouch. Not exactly a stellar season, but hey, it happens. Even the best teams have their off years. In the 2001-02 season they had a record of 29 wins and 53 losses.
After a couple of hours of digging and reminiscing, I had a pretty good overview of the 2001 Cavs roster. It was a fun little project, and it’s always cool to look back at these teams from the past and see how the NBA has changed over the years. And that’s how I spent my afternoon, folks. Hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane as much as I did!
