Man, I was trying to put together a list of all the players who were on the Orlando Magic back in 2015. You wouldn’t believe the rabbit hole I went down. Started off simple enough, I just wanted to see who was playing for them that year, you know, for a little project I’m working on.

First, I hit up some general search engine. I typed in “2015 Orlando Magic roster.” It’s crazy how many websites pop up for stuff like this. I clicked on a few, and they had bits and pieces, but nothing complete. One site had their record for the season, which was, let me see, 15-37 under Jacque Vaughn and then 10-20 with James Borrego at the helm. Not the best season, it seems.
Then I remembered a site, I think it was called Basketball-Reference, or something like that. They usually have pretty detailed stats. I went there and searched for the 2014-15 season for the Magic. Bingo! They had a full list of players, their jersey numbers, positions, even their heights and birthdays. It was pretty cool to see all that info in one place.
I started jotting down the names. There were some familiar ones, like Aaron Gordon. The site mentioned he was the #4 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. I also found out some other names like Elfrid Payton, Victor Oladipo and others. It’s wild to think about how much these guys have changed teams or even retired since then.
I spent a good chunk of time just going through the list, writing down each player’s details. It’s kind of interesting to see who was playing together back then. Some of these guys were just starting out, while others were already established players.
After I got all the names and details, I double-checked everything on another sports site, just to be sure. They had mostly the same info, which was reassuring. I even found some more details about the team’s stats for that year, like their field goal percentage and stuff like that.
My Final Roster List
So, here’s what I ended up with. It’s not just the names, but also their positions and a few other tidbits:
- Number 00: Aaron Gordon, Power Forward, born 9/16/1995.
- Number 2: Kyle O’Quinn, Power Forward, born 3/26/1990.
- Number 3: Dewayne Dedmon, Center, born 8/12/1989.
- Number 4: Elfrid Payton, Point Guard, born 2/22/1994.
- Number 5: Victor Oladipo, Shooting Guard, born 5/4/1992.
- Number 7: Ben Gordon, Shooting Guard, born 4/4/1983.
- Number 8: Channing Frye, Power Forward, born 5/17/1983.
- Number 9: Nikola Vucevic, Center, born 10/24/1990.
- Number 10: Evan Fournier, Shooting Guard, born 10/29/1992.
- Number 12: Tobias Harris, Small Forward, born 7/15/1992.
- Number 13: Luke Ridnour, Point Guard, born 2/13/1981.
- Number 21: Mo Harkless, Small Forward, born 5/11/1993.
- Number 34: Willie Green, Shooting Guard, born 7/28/1981.
- Number 44: Andrew Nicholson, Power Forward, born 12/8/1989.
It took a bit of digging, but I finally got my complete 2015 Orlando Magic roster. It’s funny how a simple question can lead you on such a long search. But hey, that’s the fun of it, right? You never know what you’ll learn along the way.
