Okay, so I wanted to figure out who the best Baltimore Ravens running backs of all time were. Here’s how I went about it.

First, I started digging into the Ravens’ history. Turns out, they haven’t been around forever, just since 1996. But even in that short time, they’ve had a bunch of good running backs. I mean, they’re known for their strong running game.
Then I got to work on making a list. I knew right away that I had to include Jamal Lewis. I mean, the guy’s a legend! He’s got the most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in Ravens history, it is a no brainer.
After that, I started looking at other players, like Ray Rice. He was a beast for a while, although I remember all that controversy around him later on. Still, on the field, he was great.
- I added Jamal Lewis to the top of my list. No doubt about that one.
- Ray Rice went on the list, too, despite everything.
Next, I thought about some of the newer guys. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards came to mind. They’ve been solid, but it’s tough to compare them to guys like Lewis and Rice, who had longer careers with the team.
Finally, I put together my list, trying to balance the old-school legends with some of the more recent players. I compared their stats, I watched some old game footage, and I read a bunch of articles and forum posts to see what other fans thought.
It wasn’t easy, and I’m sure not everyone will agree with my picks. There are always debates about this kind of thing, right? But I feel pretty good about the list I came up with. It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot about the Ravens’ history along the way.
