Okay, so I’ve been meaning to catch a Phoenix Sparks game for a while now. I finally got around to it, and let me tell you, it was an experience.

First off, I went online and started looking for tickets. I saw that some games are gonna be at this place called the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, and others are at the Footprint Center. I ended up grabbing tickets for a game at the Footprint Center ’cause it was closer to me. Prices weren’t too bad, starting around 94 bucks, I think.
Next, I had to figure out the whole parking situation. The website had some info, but it was a bit confusing. I ended up just driving around until I found a decent spot. I think next time I’ll do a little more research beforehand.
Getting into the arena was a whole other thing. I wasn’t really sure where to go since I’d never been to the Footprint Center. There were a bunch of entrances, and I had to ask a few people before I found the right one. I guess they’re designed for easy access, but I felt like I was running around in circles.
Once I was inside, I had to deal with the bag check. Now, I get it, security and all that, but it was a bit of a hassle. I had a small backpack with me, and they made me go through this X-Ray thing. I saw a sign saying that small clutches, like 5″ x 9″ x 1″, are okay. Next time I’ll just bring my wallet. And apparently medical and parental bags smaller than 14″ x 14″ x 6″ are okay if they go through the X-Ray. The guy at the gate told me to ask a Guest Services person to find the nearest screening entry.
The game itself was awesome. The energy in the arena was crazy, and the Sparks played really well. Even though I had a bit of a rough time getting there, it was totally worth it. I’m definitely planning on going to another game soon, maybe even one at the Walter Pyramid. I heard they’re playing there five times this summer, starting May 15th.
Oh, and I found out that they sometimes play at the Galen Center too. I guess they had two games there not too long ago.

Here are some tips if you’re planning on going to a Sparks game:
- Tickets: Check online and compare prices. You can get them for a pretty good deal. I saw some available from this site called Undercover Tourist.
- Parking: Do your research beforehand! It’ll save you a lot of time and frustration.
- Entry: The Footprint Center has a lot of entrances. Maybe look at a map online before you go, or ask someone for help when you get there.
- Bag Policy: Keep it small! A small clutch or wallet is your best bet. Anything bigger and you might get stuck in a long line.
- Venue: They play at different places, so double-check the schedule. They have games at the Footprint Center, the Walter Pyramid, and even the Galen Center sometimes.
All in all, it was a great time, and I highly recommend checking out a Phoenix Sparks game. Just make sure you’re prepared, and you’ll have a blast!
