So, I was kinda curious about basketball and where some of these guys come from. I decided to dig into the NBA players hailing from West Virginia. You know, just a little side project for fun.

First off, I started by just throwing “NBA players from West Virginia” into a search engine. Nothing fancy, just wanted to see what would pop up. I got a bunch of results, some news articles, some player stats, and some general info about basketball in West Virginia. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
Then, I stumbled upon a few names that kept showing up: Jerry West, Jason Williams, and Leroy Jevon Carter. I mean, Jerry West is a legend, right? Everyone knows that guy. It turns out he’s from West Virginia. Who knew?
I started to look deeper into these players. I checked out their career stats, where they played in college, and all that jazz. It was pretty interesting to see how their careers developed. Like, Jevon Carter, he played for the West Virginia Mountaineers in college. I even found some info about their freshman or junior varsity team stats. Pretty cool, huh?
- I looked up basketball coaches in West Virginia, too.
- Found some news about West Virginia basketball.
- Read some rumors, but you know how those are.
I spent hours going down this rabbit hole, just clicking around and reading stuff. I found this one site that was all about tracking pro athletes from your college. I thought that was a neat idea.
It got me thinking, who are the best players from each state?
I found another site that was breaking down the best NBA players from each state. Man, that was a whole other can of worms. But, it was cool to see West Virginia’s best stacked up against other states.
At the end of the day, I didn’t really find anything groundbreaking. But, I learned a lot about West Virginia basketball and some of the players who made it big. It was a fun little journey, and now I know a bit more about the NBA and its players’ roots. Maybe next, I’ll look into another state. Any suggestions?
