Okay, so I was digging into some football history today, specifically about the Green Bay Packers. You know, that team with the cheeseheads? Yeah, those guys. I wanted to see who their best running backs were over the years. It’s always fun to look back at the legends, right?

So, first, I started by just kind of throwing “Green Bay Packers past running backs” into my search bar. Just to get a feel for what was out there. You wouldn’t believe how much stuff popped up! Articles, stats, old photos… it was a bit overwhelming, to be honest.
I started clicking around, trying to make sense of it all. I saw this one article – I think it was from a blog called “Lombardi Ave” or something like that. They were doing their own “Top 10” list of Packers running backs. Pretty standard stuff, but it gave me a good starting point.
One name that kept popping up was Jim Taylor. Apparently, this guy was a total beast back in the day. I mean, the stats they were showing for him were insane! He played for the Packers for nine seasons and just dominated. It said he’s considered by many to be the best running back in their whole history.
- Scrolled through a bunch of articles, some fan pages, some official-looking sites.
- Found some cool old photos of the players in action. It’s crazy how much the game has changed!
- Made a little list of names that kept coming up as the top running backs.
Then I found another article by Lisa Swift, it looked like a recent one from 2024, talking about a trip down memory lane and mentioning the Packers Legends, it got a lot of shares and views. That’s how I knew it was a big deal. And it also mentioned Jim Taylor, and I saw a pattern. Jim is likely the best, or at least one of the best, I guess.
I saw one article where it was asking, “Who are the 10 best running backs in Green Bay Packers history?” I thought, yeah, that’s what I want to know! So I read through it, and it had a pretty good list, they tried to rank them and everything.
My Notes:
- Jim Taylor: Definitely seems like the top dog.
- Need to look into some of the other names that were mentioned, see what their stories are.
- Maybe try to find some old game footage? That would be awesome.
So yeah, that’s where I’m at with this little project. It’s been a fun dive into some football history, and I’m excited to see what else I can uncover about these Green Bay legends.
