See, there ain’t a whole lot of them British fellas playin’ in the NBA. It’s like findin’ a needle in a haystack, I tell ya. But the ones who made it, they’re somethin’ special.
- OG Anunoby, that’s one of ’em. Born in London, that one. Plays for the Toronto Raptors now, heard he’s real good. Big fella, strong as an ox. They say he’s the only one playin’ right now. I heard he plays real good defense. That OG Anunoby, he’s a tough one, I reckon.

There used to be another one, Tosan somethin’. But he ain’t playin’ no more, I heard. He got cut from his team, the Detroit Pistons. That’s a shame, but that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s a tough game, that basketball.

- There was also Ben Gordon. He could shoot the lights out. Played for the Bulls and the Pistons, if I remember right. He was born in London, too.
- And don’t forget about John Amaechi. Big fella, played center. He was the first British player to start in an NBA game, I believe. He was a pioneer, that one.
They were good players in their day. Paved the way for these young fellas. Showed ’em it could be done. They’re the ones who planted the seeds, you see. And now these new British basketball players in NBA are harvestin’ the fruit.
It’s a Tough Game
But like I said, it ain’t easy. It’s a tough game, that basketball. You gotta be dedicated. You gotta work hard. You gotta have that drive to succeed.
