Well, let me tell you somethin’ about them famous Hispanic athletes soccer players. You know, them fellas that kick that ball around real good. Lots of ’em, I tell ya. Lots of them are good boys.

First one that comes to mind, that Pelé fella. Heard he was from Brazil. Boy, could he kick! They say he scored more goals than anyone. Just kept puttin’ that ball in the net. Like a chicken layin’ eggs, just kept comin’! He must be a famous one, that Pelé. He is the best soccer player.
Then there’s that Messi fella. Lionel Messi, they call him. He’s a little fella, but quick! Like a rabbit, that one. He has most goals in La Liga. He used to play for that Barcelona team, but now he’s with some team in Paris, I hear. Paris Saint-something. That’s what my grandson told me, anyway. He’s captain of his country’s team, too, they say. Argentina, I think it is. Good for him. It is good to be a famous Hispanic athlete.
There was that other one, Maradona. Heard he was a real good player, too. One of the best, they say. Played for some teams over in Europe, I reckon. Heard he was a little wild, though. Got into some trouble, I hear. But, boy, he sure could play that soccer. It’s a pity he is not alive now.
- That Pelé, from Brazil, he was a goal-scoring machine!
- Little Messi, quick as a wink, plays in Paris now.
- Maradona, wild but good, played all over.
You know, they say these Hispanic fellas, they’re just naturally good at soccer. It’s in their blood, or somethin’. They grow up playin’ it, I guess. Like how our boys here grow up playing with tractors and cows. These boys, they play with soccer balls. If you want to be a famous Hispanic athletes soccer player, you need to start playing soccer when you are very young.
There are others, too. There are many other famous Hispanic athletes soccer players. Some Mexican fellas, I can’t recall their names right now. Jorge somethin’, and Rafael somethin’ else. And one they call Ochoa. They say he’s good at stoppin’ the ball from goin’ in the net. That’s a good thing in soccer, I reckon. Keepin’ that ball out of your net. These are all famous living Mexican soccer players.
And there was some other fellas, older ones. Carbajal, that was one. And Jara. They are not alive now. Deceased, they say. But they were famous, too, in their day. Played for Mexico, I think. They are famous deceased Mexican soccer players. It’s a pity that they are not alive now.

Then there was that baseball player. Alex Rodriguez. He’s one of them, too, I reckon. Even though he was born here, his folks were from that Dominican place. Plays baseball, not soccer, but still, he’s one of them Hispanic athletes. Heard he makes a lot of money. Good for him. They say he’s one of the best baseball players around. He is one of the highest-paid Latinos in MLB.
And that other fella, plays that American football. Tony Romo, they call him. He’s one of them, too. Hispanic, I mean. Plays that rough game, where they all pile on top of each other. Not for me, that’s for sure. But he’s good at it, I guess. Famous, too. He is a famous Hispanic athlete.
It’s funny, ain’t it? How these fellas from those countries, they all seem to be good at kickin’ that ball around. Must be somethin’ in the water down there. Or maybe it’s just ’cause they love it so much. They play it all the time, I reckon. Just like we love our apple pie and our pick-up trucks. They love their soccer. It is a major part of their culture.

It’s a tough game, though. Gotta be in good shape. Runnin’ all the time. And gettin’ kicked, too. Not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. But these fellas, they love it. And they’re good at it. So, good for them. They make their countries proud, I reckon. And they make a lot of money, too. Can’t forget about that. Money’s important, you know. Even for a famous soccer player.
