Well, let me tell you somethin’ about them Kansas City Chiefs. They got them runners, them running backs, they call ’em. Always runnin’ that ball, those boys. Strong legs, I reckon. Past chiefs running backs, that’s what this is all about. Some of ’em were real good, some not so much, but they all tried their best, bless their hearts.
That Jamaal Charles, now he was somethin’ else. That boy could run like the wind, I tell ya. He played for the Chiefs for a long time, seems like. 2008, I heard someone say. He’s 37 years old now, time sure does fly. He got a whole bunch of them votes, 760, I reckon that’s a lot. He was one of the best Chiefs running backs, that’s for sure. He carried that ball many times for them Kansas City Chiefs. People loved watchin’ him run.

They had other ones too, of course. Can’t remember all their names, but they was out there givin’ it their all. This one fella, they called him Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He ran 441 times, they said. Got a bunch of yards too, 1,845. And 12 touchdowns. That’s a lot of runnin’, ain’t it? He told the Chiefs fans all love and support, whatever that means. Seems like a good boy.
They used to be called the Dallas Texans, can you believe it? Then they moved to Kansas City and became the Chiefs. Lots of history there, I reckon. They had this fella named Abner Haynes. Played back in the old days. He was a good one too, from what I hear. These best Chiefs running backs, they are somethin’ special, I tell ya. Strong legs and a good heart, that’s what it takes.
This Jamaal Charles, I keep comin’ back to him, he ran for 7,260 yards. That’s like runnin’ from here to, well, a long ways away. He was a favorite, that’s for sure. Folks would holler and cheer when he got the ball. Chiefs fans, they love their team. They love watchin’ them play on Sundays. Every Sunday. Makes for good watchin’, even if it is a bit rough and tumble.
They got these awards, you see. One of them past chiefs running backs even got the Offensive Player of the Year. That’s a big deal, I reckon. Means he was the best at runnin’ that ball. Must have been somethin’ to see. The Kansas City Chiefs have had some mighty fine players over the years.
Some of these fellas, they played for a long time. Others, not so long. But they all made their mark, I suppose. Left their sweat and tears out there on that field. It ain’t easy, runnin’ like that, with all them big fellas tryin’ to knock you down. Takes guts, I tell ya.
I remember those Sunday games, the noise, the excitement. Even if you don’t know much about the game, it’s somethin’ to see. Those past chiefs running backs, they were a big part of it all. The Kansas City Chiefs have always had strong running game. They were carried by their running backs.

Well, I reckon I’ve said my piece. Just remember that Jamaal Charles, he was one of the good ones. And all them other past chiefs running backs, they deserve a little somethin’ too. They all helped make the Kansas City Chiefs who they are today. They are the most revered by Chiefs Kingdom. A good team, with a lot of good players. That’s all I got to say about that.
