Alright, let’s yak about some of them fellas, the white fellas, who played that basketball game in the NBA. You know, the tall ones, runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’ that ball around. Folks keep askin’ about ’em, so I figured I’d tell ya what I know, or what I heard tell, anyways. This here list ain’t in no special order, just as they come to my old mind.

Larry Bird, now there was a fella. Everyone and their grandma knows about Larry Bird. He was somethin’ else, I tell ya. Folks say he’s the best white player ever, and I ain’t gonna argue. He played a long time ago, back in the day, you know? Always shootin’ that ball, and it always seemed to go in. Smart player, too. Not the fastest or jumpin’ the highest, but he knew how to play the game. A real winner, that Larry Bird. Folks loved him, even if he wasn’t flashy like some of them other fellas.
Then there’s this Dirk Nowitzki fella. Heard he’s from some foreign place, Germany or somethin’. Tall as a beanpole, he was. And that shot of his! Unusual, I tell ya. He’d lean back, way back, and that ball would just swish right through the net. Nobody could guard him, not when he was doin’ that lean-back thing. He played a long time, too, just like Larry Bird. Loyal to his team, that’s what I heard. Folks respected him for that.
And don’t forget about John Stockton. Now, he wasn’t one for scorin’ all the points, but he was a darn good passer. Best passer I ever seen, or heard about anyways. He and that Karl Malone fella, they were somethin’ else together. Stockton would get that ball to Malone, and Malone would slam it home. They played together for donkey’s years. Tough little fella, Stockton. And he played a long, long time.
- Kevin Love. Now, this boy’s still playin’, I think. He’s a good rebounder, that’s what I know. Gets in there and grabs them balls when other fellas miss. He can shoot, too, when he wants to. Big fella, strong.
- Gordon Hayward. Heard he had a real bad injury, poor fella. But he came back, and that’s somethin’. He’s a good all-around player, can do a bit of everything. Not the flashiest, but he gets the job done.
- Kristaps Porzingis. Another one of them foreign fellas. Tall and skinny, like a scarecrow. But he can shoot that ball, and he blocks shots, too. Still young, this one. Got a lot of learnin’ to do, but he’s got potential, that’s what they say.
There’s a bunch of others, too, I reckon. Can’t remember all their names. Some fellas played a long time ago, some are playin’ now. But these fellas I mentioned, they’re the ones folks talk about the most. The good ones, the ones who made a difference.
You know, it ain’t easy in that NBA. Lots of runnin’ and jumpin’, and them fellas are big and strong. But these white players, they held their own. They worked hard, and they played the game the right way, or so I’ve heard. They weren’t always the flashiest, or the fastest, or the highest jumpers, but they knew how to play. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Knowing how to play the game. It ain’t just about the muscles; it’s about the brains too, you see. Got to know what you’re doin’ out there on that court.
And folks always arguin’ about who’s the best. This fella’s better than that fella, and so on and so forth. But I say, they’re all good. They all made it to the NBA, and that ain’t easy. They all played hard, and they all gave it their best. And that’s all you can ask for, ain’t it? Just give it your best, that’s what my old pappy used to say.

So there you have it. Some of them white NBA fellas. Good players, all of ‘em. Made their mark on the game, that’s for sure. And folks will remember them for years to come, long after they’ve hung up their shoes and stopped runnin’ up and down that court. They showed them young’uns how to play the game the right way, with heart and hustle. That’s the most important thing, I reckon. Heart and hustle. And maybe a little bit of talent, too.
