Alright, so you wanna know about them New York Giants tight ends, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s been a whole bunch of fellas catchin’ balls for them Giants over the years. Some good, some not so good, ya know?

I ain’t no fancy football expert or nothin’, but I seen a game or two. And I remember some of them tight end fellas. They say the Giants been around a long, long time. Folks call ‘em “The New York Football Giants” to make sure you ain’t thinkin’ of them baseball fellas who used to play in New York too, then went off to San Fran-somethin’ or other. Anyways, back to the football.
Now, they talk about this fella, Mark Bavaro. Heard he was somethin’ special. They say he played six seasons with the Giants and caught the ball a whole bunch of times, somethin’ like 266 times, they say. And he ran with the ball for a long ways too, thousands of yards, I reckon. Folks say he was one of the best, if not the best, tight end the Giants ever had. I guess he was tough, real tough, and could catch anythin’ thrown his way.
- Mark Bavaro was a tough fella.
- He caught a lot of balls.
- He played for six seasons.
Then there’s this other fella, Jeremy Shockey. He was a big deal too, I hear. Folks got all excited when he played. He was good, real good, but maybe not as tough as Bavaro, from what I hear tell. Still, he caught a lot of balls and made some big plays. They always talkin’ about who was better, Bavaro or Shockey. It’s like arguin’ over who makes the best apple pie, ya know? Everyone’s got their favorite.
The Giants, they had other tight ends too, don’t you forget. Lots of ‘em over the years. Some I remember, some I don’t. It’s hard to keep track of all them fellas runnin’ around in them tight pants and helmets. But Bavaro and Shockey, them names stick out, ya know? They were the real deal.
Now, they got this new fella playin’ quarterback, Tommy somethin’-or-other. He ain’t no tight end, but he’s gotta throw the ball to the tight end, right? So, he’s important too. And they got this other quarterback, Drew somethin’-or-other, he’s supposed to be backup. And poor old Jones, he’s the third string quarterback now. Sounds like a lot of quarterbacks to me, but what do I know? I just watch the games.
This whole football thing, it’s kinda confusin’ sometimes. They talk about records and spreads and all that fancy stuff. I just wanna see ‘em catch the ball and run! And win, of course. Everybody wants their team to win. But them tight ends, they gotta be tough and they gotta be able to catch that ball, no matter what. That’s their job.

New York Giants Tight Ends History, that’s what you wanted, right? Well, it’s Bavaro, it’s Shockey, and it’s a whole bunch of other fellas who tried their best. Some made it big, some didn’t. That’s just how it is. Like life, ya know? You just gotta keep tryin’ and hope you catch the ball when it comes your way.
They say Lawrence Taylor was the best Giants player ever, but he weren’t no tight end. He was somethin’ else, a linebacker or somethin’. But this ain’t about him, it’s about them tight ends. The fellas who catch the ball and try to run over anyone who gets in their way. Them are the fellas we’re talkin’ about.
So, there ya have it. A little somethin’-somethin’ about them Giants tight ends. From what I hear, they’ve had some good ones and some not-so-good ones. But that Bavaro fella, he was somethin’ special, they say. And Shockey too. And who knows, maybe this Tommy DeVito fella will throw the ball to a new tight end who will be even better. You never know in football, things change all the time. Just like the weather.
And I heard they was celebratin’ their 100th anniversary or somethin’. That’s a long time to be playin’ football, I reckon. They must have had a whole heap of tight ends in all them years. Too many for an old lady like me to remember, that’s for sure.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about them tight ends. Hope it made some sense to ya. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football makes a body hungry.
