Alright, let’s gab about them best Raiders players, you know, the fellas who really made a name for themselves wearin’ that silver and black. Folks always arguin’ ’bout who’s the best, so I figured I’d throw my two cents in, even if it ain’t worth much.

Now, you gotta start with them linemen, them big ol’ boys who do the dirty work. Gene Upshaw, that’s a name you hear a lot. Folks say he was somethin’ else, strong as an ox and tough as nails. He was part of that ’67 team, the one that won the Super Bowl. They had a real good line back then, the best, some say. And that Maxx Crosby fella, he’s somethin’ special. Always givin’ it his all, playin’ his heart out every game. He’s been the Raiders’ best player for a good while now, no doubt about it.
Then you got them pass catchers, the fellas who run like the wind and grab them balls outta the air. Tim Brown, now there was a player. Folks say he caught more yards than anyone else in Raiders history, a whole heap of yards, like 14,734 or somethin’. That’s a lot, even for a young fella like you to understand. And Fred Biletnikoff, he wasn’t too shabby neither. Second-most yards, they say. These boys, they could really make things happen on the field, you know?
- Tim Brown: Folks say he caught the most yards ever for the Raiders.
- Fred Biletnikoff: Another good one, second-most yards, they tell me.
Now, talkin’ ’bout the best players, you can’t forget them receivers. They say the Raiders got a real history of good ones. Top 10 in team history, that’s what I heard. Some folks like to make lists, rankin’ ’em all. I ain’t got time for that, but I know a good player when I see one. And them Raiders, they had a bunch. Some of them fellas, they say they were the best in the whole darn league, not just for the Raiders.
The Raiders, they been around a long time, you know. Lots of history and tradition, that’s what they got. Been playin’ since before you were born, I bet. And through all them years, they had some good teams, some real good teams. That ’74 team, Madden, he said that was his best. But other folks got their favorites. Some like the ’76 team, some like the ’83 team. Me? I just like watchin’ ’em play, win or lose.
It’s hard to pick just a few players, you see. So many good ones over the years. You got the ’76 team, the ’83 team, the ’80 team… all them fellas, they played their hearts out. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Givin’ it your all, playin’ hard, and representin’ them silver and black.
So, who’s the best Raider ever? Well, that depends on who you ask, I reckon. Some folks like the old-timers, some like the new fellas. Me? I appreciate ’em all. They all put on that jersey and played their hearts out, and that’s good enough for me. From them old Super Bowl teams to the fellas playin’ today, they all part of the Raiders story. It’s a long story, and it ain’t over yet.

And let’s not forget them other good teams, the ’75 team, the ’67 team, the ’69 team, the ’68 team, the ’77 team, and even the ’90 team. And some folks even talk about the 2002 and 2000 teams. See? Lots of good teams, lots of good players. It’s hard to keep track of ’em all, but that’s what makes it fun, ain’t it?
So next time you watch a Raiders game, remember them names, remember them players. They’re the ones who made this team what it is. And that’s somethin’ special.
