Okay, so I’ve been digging into the 2006 New Orleans Saints roster lately, and man, what a trip down memory lane! I wanted to share my whole process with you guys, from start to finish.

First off, I started by just trying to remember who was even on that team. It was a while ago, right? I jotted down some names I could recall: Drew Brees, obviously, Reggie Bush, Deuce McAllister, and Marques Colston. That was a good start, but it wasn’t nearly the whole picture.
Next, I hit up the internet. I figured there had to be some old websites or databases with that info. I tried searching for things like “2006 New Orleans Saints roster” and “New Orleans Saints players 2006.” It took a bit of scrolling, but I eventually stumbled upon a few sites that looked promising. One of them had a pretty comprehensive list, which was awesome.
Sorting Through the Data
Once I found a good roster list, I copied it and pasted it into a spreadsheet. This is where the real fun began. I wanted to organize it in a way that made sense to me. So, I created different columns for things like player name, position, number, and even things like experience and college. I love details!
- Organized the data by position first.
- Then I sorted it alphabetically by last name within each position group.
- I also highlighted some key players that I remembered making big contributions that year.
After I got the spreadsheet all set up, I started to fill in some gaps. There were a few players I didn’t recognize, so I did some more searching online. I looked up individual player names and read through old articles and stats to get a better feel for who they were and what they did for the team. It was actually pretty interesting to learn about some of the lesser-known guys who played a role that season.
Realizations
By organizing the entire roster, many pieces of information are now displayed visually. They are indeed key predictors of health, stability.
This whole process was a blast. It brought back a lot of memories from that awesome 2006 season, and it was cool to get a more detailed look at the team that made it all happen. This was a fun little project, and it definitely satisfied my curiosity!
